Accessibility Statement

AthleticsMD® is a rehabilitation practice. Access is not a compliance checkbox for us; it is the substance of what we do. We want our website, our clinics, and our care to work for everyone, including people with disabilities.

Our Website

We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. In practice that means descriptive alternatives for images, strong color contrast, full keyboard navigation, clear headings and link text, and labeled forms. We review the site as content is added and fix problems as we find them.

Some embedded tools, such as maps and scheduling widgets, are built by other companies and may fall short of these standards. If any part of the site is hard for you to use, tell us. We will get you the same information or service another way, usually within two business days.

Our Clinics

Both locations, in Columbia and Laurel, Maryland, offer accessible parking, step-free entry, and treatment areas built for wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility equipment.

During Your Care

At no cost to you: qualified sign language interpreters, spoken language interpreters, materials in large print or accessible electronic formats, and extra time or hands-on assistance during visits. Ask when scheduling so everything is in place before you arrive.

The Americans with Disabilities Act

AthleticsMD® complies with Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act, which applies to private healthcare providers as places of public accommodation, and with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 as a recipient of federal funds through Medicare and Medicaid. In a clinic, that commitment is concrete: our facilities follow the ADA Standards for Accessible Design, we provide auxiliary aids and services for effective communication at no charge, we make reasonable modifications to policies and procedures when a disability requires it, and service animals are welcome in all patient areas.

For the website, WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the benchmark the Department of Justice references for web accessibility under the ADA, and it is the standard we build to. Job applicants who need an accommodation at any point in the hiring process can request one through the contacts below.
